I have always found great joy in the simple, everyday, yet incredible creations of nature and am moved to create my own interpretations of what I see.
My photographic eye is caught by the whimsical, the ironic, and the juxtaposed elements of life that we are sometimes too busy to appreciate...
My painterly impulses pull me toward botanical portraits of flowers, seeds, pods, leaves...in all their stages of life and decay. I am continuously awed by the ingenious anatomy and design of plants. My love of light and color bring enjoyment to the process of composing and painting these portraits.
